The one thing I love about a slow, quiet, relaxing boat ride ….

It doesn’t get much better than this …

Nature …

Rush River Valley Ice Sculptures {Town of Salem}

So last night Brad took me out on a Road Trip to see the Rush River Ice Sculptures.

Well our temperatures are pretty closely mimicking the North Pole. With these -20+ below temps, I just want to stay indoors until Spring. If I had my way I probably would stay indoors all Winter long. But last night Brad took me out on a Road Trip to see the Rush River Ice Sculptures. Having lived in the Midwest my entire life, I had yet to see what everyone else was talking about. But it was worth the drive!

You can see the sculptures from the road, or drive/walk on the path through the sculptures. There is a donation box located at the entrance.

Most of the sculptures were lit via a light at the base.

We saw some pretty interesting sculptures. The one above, I thought, looks like an angel reading a book at a podium.

This one had the red lights moving over it, which was pretty neat!

And these two sculptures …. The one on the left resembles a winged monster of some sort and the one on the right another cloaked image.

I snapped a few pics, but did not get all the sculptures. There are over a dozen sculptures this year. I’m definitely heading back there on a warmer night not only to walk around and get some more pics, but to see how much these sculptures change.

If you’re in the area, or just looking for something to do, this is a fun place to check out. Feel free to share your own Rush River Ice Sculpture photos!
